HAMILTON O March 15 Special Dispatch to the Evening Star Dodsworths distillery was totally destroyed by fire about one oclock this morning Loss about twelve thousand dollars It was set on fire by a spark from a locomotive.
London March 14 Premier Gladstone read Secretary Fish’s reply to Earl Granville on the Alabama affair in the Commons. He then went to inform Granville of its contents and praised the note’s friendly tone while condemning the American position. The text of the note was not released to the public.
The House Committee investigating Navy accounts adjourns until next week. The New York Sun proprietors were asked to provide evidence or name witnesses. A. H. Laflin testified on clerks and pay and a list of errors in Custom House papers revealed potential government losses up to about four hundred thousand dollars.
Dispatch reports Mrs. George N. Dota was accidentally shot yesterday while riding with her husband when two boys Duphy and Cooper discharged a rifle. The bullet entered her left ear and exited the right eye. medical condition listed as dire.

The telegram reports Maj. Gen. Richard Foster, commander of the Salem Cadets and partner at J. Bigelow & Co., died this evening after a two week illness following the Parthia collision incident. The steamship Tripoli arrived at Boston with a full cargo, including Parthia’s damaged goods from the collision.
