Rhode Island July 12. In North Providence yesterday James Gallease was lodged in jail to await grand jury action for the murder of David Shaw on Friday last.
Naperville July 12 Frank Hewes fifteen son of A B Hewes was thrown in front of a mowing machine last Wednesday and mangled so severely that he died soon afterward.
Washington reports a plan to merge internal revenue and supervision districts with ten supervisors kept. H. P. Morrow notes Georgia courts hold over three hundred docketed cases, largely for revenue law violations dating to 1866, as new regulations are issued to push pending cases to decision. Baltimore delegates toured the capital while Interior confirms tolerable Indian outrages reports. Treasury shows currency and coin balances totaling over 88 million dollars. Brooklyn July 12 Madame Leutner's concert with the Prussian Band drew a huge crowd at the Brooklyn Rink last night. Henry Taggart a baker of 867 Pacific street was shot yesterday afternoon in Wm Qually's liquor saloon on Pacific street by the proprietor's son Thomas Qually 19. The shot struck Taggart in the eye and back of the head and he died. Qually escaped.
