John Farley alias Dixie was arrested on a vagrancy charge by Detective Cushman. Before Judge Straub he claimed the two burglar’s keys unlocked his trunk and a stone-cutter’s chisel served as a stamp. He and Faulkner were previously tied to a horse theft in Ludlow, Ky.

The New Government Buildings Site Proposals Revealed
Three proposals for a Cincinnati Post office and Custom House site were submitted to the Government Commissioners. The first offers Fifth street grounds bounded by Plum Race and Sixth streets for up to 500000 dollars. The second proposal covers Sixth Elm and Plum with 316 feet on Sixth and 222 feet back, claiming a purchase price under 500000. The third bids Walnut Main streets frontage from Fifth street to Patterson alley with 19 feet depth, about 742000 pledged.

Death from monkey wrench assault near Groesbeck
Meredith Wosencraft died from injuries received Saturday night when Wm Craig, owner of the Six mile House, struck him with a monkey wrench over money disputes. The coroner's jury found in accordance with the facts. The deceased was forty, unmarried. Craig was arrested.
