Memorial plan eyed for bridge memorial and approaches
A Middletown memorial committee proposed funding the Nemoria bridge memorial by popular subscription at $65,000 and its approaches at $90,000 by taxation. To secure ready money the town might bond itself for $5,000, aiming to retire the debt in five years via subscriptions, taxation, and possible state aid, reducing the required tax burden accordingly.
