Local home gardeners harvest vegetables for family consumption as demand falls. New potatoes bring $2 a bushel locally. Boston and New York markets quote $5.25 to $5.50 per barrel, with New York prices similar here. Cabbage prices have collapsed to 5 1/2 to 7 cents per head, and eggs hold at 50 cents wholesale. Sweet corn expected to command high prices, red raspberries 28 to 30 cents, blackberries 25 cents. Apples arrive at 75 cents per basket, poultry prices steady.
