General Pershing awarded the Distinguished Service Crosses to fourteen United States Marines and other service members for gallantry in the Belleau Wood and Bouresches actions from June 6 to June 8. Boston July 3 Edward Tuck French, son of Amos Tuck French, millionaire director, travels from New York and Newport in search of his bride of five days. Mrs Lillian Harrington, formerly a Manchester NH telephone operator, left him in Fall River on their honeymoon. He telegraphed to her brother in Brookline and checked the Geraghty home without success. The couple wed last Friday at the Church of the Advent in Boston.

Fatal Auto Accidents in Hartford Six Months
Hartford reports 67 fatal accidents and 69 deaths in the first half of the year from January to June. Comparisons show 66 fatal accidents and similar deaths in the same period in 1917. Eighteen victims were children aged three to twelve. Some incidents occurred outside Connecticut or involved New York licensees under cross border rules. A 1917 law change was in effect all six months this year, with vehicle registrations up about 25,000.
