U boats unable to stop troop ships, says Paris officer

Labor Leaders Oppose Strike Amendment Before House Panel

AFL secretary Frank Morrison and labor leaders urged the House Military Affairs Committee to strike the proposed amendment to the manpower bill allowing drafted striking workers in essential industries. Sub-Treasury reported a Monday cash gain of 3,638,000 dollars from banks, bringing Friday’s gain to 3,658,000.
