London dispatch reports Emperor Charles of Avetria has abdicated. Vienna sources say Victor Adler, head of the Austrian Socialist party and foreign secretary, is dead. It is also reported that President elect will be proclaimed in Vienna tomorrow.
An Amsterdam dispatch reports the entire German northern fleet and Heligoland under soldiers and workers councils influence per Berlin telegram. The same note cites plans for Cemeteries and the fate of Hosenzollern in a separate post.
United States draft boards are ordered to stop classifying men under 19 and over 30 and to withhold questionnaires for those registrants not yet sent. Registrants aged 18 and 37 to 45 who already received forms need not fill them. Prohibition results reported in Minnesota show a strong statewide vote.
The city celebrated BibAYEST Day with great enthusiasm as the news of the end of a four year war spread. Automobiles filled the streets amid crowds cheering and children singing. Flags and bunting hung in the fall breeze while posters of the United War Campaign adorned the scene.
