Five Million Men May Be In Draft

The Associated Press reports Washington May 11 that over 1.3 million men have been drafted or called to service in France or for deployment before June, with monthly mobilization continuing through summer and fall. The army may reach about three million in a year and could approach five million.

Felix Frankfurter of Harvard University was appointed by Secretary of Labor Wilson as administrator of war labor activities. Morning worship at the Presbyterian church the next day will be omitted and the congregation will join others at the high school auditorium. Sabbath school will be held at the usual hour and there will be evening worship at eight with a talk on Prayer Solitude.

King George Reviews Sammies Parade in London

Five trains totalling American troops arrived in London and were escorted to Wellington barracks for a street review. A regiment of three battalions passed in line as crowds cheered while King George and Ambassador Tage, with Premier Lloyd George, observed from the war office balcony. The King congratulated the general afterward.
