Italian forces halted the Austrian offensive and launched a counterattack along the Vince river, driving a large retreat. Reports state 45,000 Austrian prisoners are taken, with heavy enemy losses and thousands of casualties as Italian troops press the pursuit.
The Italian counter offensive has forced Austrian forces back across the Piave. The official telegram to the Italian embassy confirms the capture of forty five thousand prisoners and large stores of material.
