U S Guarded From Submarine Air Attacks Plan
Washington July 6 Sixteen million dollars to be appropriated for the establishment of balloon sea plane static to guard United States against submarine air attacks has been asked of congress by the war department. The department desires also to establish sixteen stations in all thirteen in the Atlantic and three in the Gulf coast district. Definite locations are unannounced at this time. The coast defense plan also provides for the establishment of fortifications along the coast by which guns could be transferred on railroads from one point to another to meet any possible attack.
