Red Cross Shipments to Eddy County Chapter 1918
The Eddy County Chapter of the American Red Cross reports shipments in July 1918 including 640 absorbent pads 8 by 12 inches 120 gauze rolls 400 absorbent pads 8 by 12 inches 600 compresses 4 by 8 36 gauge rolls 440 gauze rolls lumped under category compresses and gauze. Additional items include 54 oxo cube? 35 suits pajamas 15 sweaters 5 wristlets 35 prayer socks and 1 Afghan.
Wrights Journey and Union Meeting Noted in Carlsbad
F A Wright arrived in Carlsbad after visiting his son Rey and family in the Panhandle. Mrs Wright plans to attend the State Portal at Silver City this summer. The Wrights own a small ranch near Hear Knowles. The W G C T A meeting at the Methodist church drew a good crowd with an interesting program and important Union matters discussed.
