An Englishman about 60 nearly perished in a storm while wandering from Newport Center to Newport. Barn door left unlocked by Charley Lamoureux led to the discovery early Saturday morning. the man, exhausted and chilled, was warmed and fed before being sent home with fare money.
Caledonian Record reports the deaths of Mrs Amis Morse and Mr Armusa Morse in Chicago. Mrs Morse, born in West Tucker Vermont, later lived in East Hardwick and St Johnsbury, died October 25 at 68. Mr Morse, born East Hardwick and later of St Johnsbury, died October 2 at 78. Surviving children include Dana L Andrew Cart and Mrs Hattie Morse Tank in Chicago.
Grace Rouse recounts a trio of St Johnsburg women Helen Stevens Mary Ide and herself experiencing a hydroplane ride over St Petersburg Florida aboard Lieut Whitted's Blue Bird on March 3.
