G. Hardy of Newport, an engineer, suffered heat prostration while bringing an extra freight from Woodsville. He was found unconscious as the train reached the south yard, carried to his home on Pleasant Star, and given restoratives. he was reported much improved last night. Fred Shanty, a fireman, brought the train to the switch house and HS Peabody assisted at home.

Balch Couple Celebrates Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Isaac A Balch of Waterford celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary at the home of her brother Oscar Wallace with friends and relatives calling to extend congratulations. They received flowers and gifts of gold. Balch, born September 15 1825 in Lunenburg, lived on the home farm in youth and later in Lyons Michigan where he kept 400 bee swarms and specialized in queen bees. He imported Italian bees and at one time shipped bees to the Dominion. The couple recently moved to the Wallace farm near East St Johnsbury.
