Plymouth Creamery Farmers Deal Update and Plans
A committee of three was chosen to canvass farmers about investing in the Plymouth Creamery project and to appraise Plymouth property. The group will include W. P. Russell, My. Kenerson, and C. W. Wood, with specialists E. C. Chandler, E. H. Hallett, and W. Wood joining. The Turney Center plan may rely on $10 per cow subscriptions, and the St. Johnsbury and New Boston plants are cited as benchmarks. The Plymouth Creamery now sources from about 1,000 farmers. Navies says the St. Johnsbury plant cost far above the contract price to duplicate today, and the New Boston plant supplies Whipple Estate hotels in Boston. Navies notes his summer plans in Waterford remain unchanged if the deal proceeds.
