Friday is the day for writing the army essay in Johnsbury schools on the benefits of enlistment in the United States Army. Essays must be up to 400 words on one side of paper and judged for originality, expression, and sincerity. The Commercial Club offers 20 dollars in prizes, with 42 additional prizes contributed by local merchants. Sergt Tomlinson boosted community support for the contest.
