Valley Crowd to Santa Fe on Special Train

An immense rabbit drive northeast of Lowy aims to remove jackrabbits from three miles of plains. Nets placed on Mr Shaw’s grounds and reports say many jacks observed. M. B. Atkinson and D. H. Childers used poison in water with soaked corn scattered every 15 to 20 steps to kill rabbits while protecting crops and domestic animals.

Good rains fall short of needs in Estancia valley
Last Monday night and Saturday a rain visited Estancia valley though not as heavy as hoped. Thunder accompanied the shower producing forty seven one hundredths of an inch. Crops sown before the rain show some emergence while much seed remains to germinate. A heavier rain in ten days would bring great benefit to the valley.
