Republican Platform Outlines Trust Oversight and Wariness of Democracy
The platform endorses Sherman anti trust enforcement with enhanced supervision for interstate corporations able to create monopolies. It praises railroad law enforcement, wage protections, court procedure reform, and farmer prosperity, while pledging to uphold courts and prohibit broad election disenfranchisement. It lauds conservation, naval buildup, foreign policy, pensions, civil service enforcement, and canal progress, arguing Republican policy differs from democracy and guards against socialism.
