The Church of Christ starts a protracted meeting in Estancia on Thursday night July 9 with Elder J N Armstrong of Las Vegas in charge of services and L K Harding leading the singing. The public is invited to attend.

Hailstorm Drenches Valley Lands East of McIntosh

Rain with hail drenched the eastern valley Monday afternoon soaking soil to depth. Hail damaged corrugated iron on a shed, and reports indicate some life damage in the area.

Socialist Territorial Convention Planned At Willard Hill

Socialists of the territory plan a July 4th meeting at Willard Hill to organize the Socialist of the Territory. Delegates from across the territory are expected as the committee secures the Sears building site for the gathering. A large Estoncia socialist delegation is anticipated to attend the convention.

Glorious Fourth of July at Estancia Festivities

The Estancia celebration plans a public Independence Day event with a license secured and a wedding ceremony noted. Merchants donate to defray costs as locals prepare sports and pageantry, including a Greased Pole contest, horse races, and prize money. Ork Is Progressing at Mein Mill Construction

Voter Residency Report Near Estancia and Tajique Draw

A large new voter has moved to the home of John W. Collier in Estancia and another to Ed Brown’s home in the Tajique Draw about ten miles southwest, with the former arriving last Friday and the latter settling this Tuesday. All concerned are doing nicely.

Cemetery Fence to Be Erected Tuesday July 7

Tuesday July 7 sets the day for fencing the cemetery grounds. Workers are urged to arrive early as wire and posts will be ready. Once the fence is in place no further improvements will occur until funds permit and then work will continue promptly.

La Voz Publica in Santa Rosa has been leased by Abran Maes and George Sena, with Sena handling layout. Sena, an interpreter for the Sixth Judicial Court, is well connected locally. The paper gains new type, better mechanicals, and stronger editorials, becoming a more gaudy publication.

Postal car rental fight taxes railroads in Senate debate
