Brother Escaped Death by Hair's Breadth
G. B. Bone of Moriarty passed through Estancia on return from Texas. His brother, working in a cotton mill, brushed loose cotton under a press and was crushed when the press dropped. He was thrown against a saw, losing arm muscles and sustaining head and facial injuries. Doctors saved the arm but it will remain useless. The accident was deemed a miracle to avoid fatality.

Death of Mrs Emma Den aigan After Brief Illness near Moriarty
Mrs Emma Denaignan died Friday night after a short heart illness at her homestead about four miles from Moriarty. Her brother Harry Kelley believed she would recover, but she passed away. The family took the body to Harper Kansas, where a sister lives.

Frasier says he recovered some sheep but not all.

Pencil in an Eye Ends in Estancia Child’s Eye Injury
Mr and Mrs Hall of McIntosh visited Estancia with their young child for medical care after a pencil pierced the eye while playing. The eye swelled badly and surgeons could not probe for a broken lead until swelling and soreness subside.
