Bill to Double Size of Dry Land Claim Discussed
Washington April 1 The senate debated a bill to allow an entryman to claim 320 acres of non irrigable land under homestead laws. Amendments limited the land to arid areas and required water availability certification. Debate noted that dry farming methods could apply and that the land amount equaled about 160 acres under the homestead act. The bill’s disposition was continued amid objections.
