Taft Plans Western Trip Begins in Boston

President Taft abandons golf to prepare for a long Western journey. He will drive to Boston for an afternoon chamber of commerce banquet and depart for Chicago at 10 am on Wednesday. Mrs. Taft stays in Beverly until November 12 when she returns to Washington.

Lovett Elected Chairman of Union Pacific Executive Board

Ex Judge Robert S. Lovett, chief counsel for Union Pacific, was elected chairman of the companys executive committee, succeeding Edward H. Harriman.
