Court of Common Pleas Opens Monday for Three Week Term

The Court of Common Pleas will convene next Monday for a three week term with Judge W H Townsend presiding. Mrs Amanda Leaphart Dies at 74 Funeral Friday

Mrs Amanda Marvellan Leaphart widow of Dr EB Leaphart died early this morning after a lingering illness. Funeral at St Stephen's Lutheran Church Friday at 3 PM. Born September 3, 1848, she married Dr EB Leaphart on October 10, 1871, and had four children. Survived by sons S J Leaphart and COB Leaphart and sister Mrs Juanna Hendrix.

Chicken Supper Monday Night at St Stephen’s Lutheran

Former Attorney General Visited Columbia During Court Call

Thos H Peppies former South Carolina attorney general travelled from Barnwell to attend United States court in Columbia. He served three terms as AG, later judge advocate in the army, and was president of the national AG association. Peppies remained tight about politics during his visit. A second obituary note records the death of John Jacob Bickley born 1854 in Lexington county died 1922 aged 70 with extensive survivors and a Lutheran faith.
