Weevil Infestation Forecast From 1922 Data
The Delta Laboratory of the Bureau of Entomology reports 1922 boll weevil emergence will be high due to mild winter and large hibernation survival. Over 3600 pounds of Spanish moss from 15 sites was inspected to gauge live and dead weevils per ton, showing more than five times as many live weevils in hibernation as in recent years and higher survival across cage studies near Tallulah Louisiana.
