Officials in Lexington report a strong taxpayer response over the past week, with more than 20000 dollars collected to ease looming obligations. Treasurer W J Smith and Auditor W D Dent urged payment through the paper, and the public mood shifted from broke rumors as figures are finalized next week.
James Caulghman of Lexington reports kidney trouble and back pain eased after using Dean's Kidney Pills. He notes frequent urination, burning passage, and sediment, then recovery and feeling well. The ad claims Harmon's Drug Store sold the remedy and promotes Dean's Kidney Pills through Milford Co., Miss., Buffalo.
The Lexington Pattie Library will be opened Thursday for patron use and stored temporarily in the Home National Bank Building with Miss Annie Caughman supervising on the second floor. It will operate Monday and Thursday from 4 to 6 PM. Rules adopted at the first library association meeting limit loans to two old books and one new book, and define newness by six months in the library.
Columbia Feb 26 Officials of the South Carolina Division of the American Cotton Association issued a statement urging farmers to hold cotton acreage to or below 1921 levels. They warn increases would depress bank collateral, invite boll weevil disaster, reduce food crops, and strain finances after deflation.

In February at Calheay Pines, Mrs. Hari Stabler died Tuesday morning after an illness. She was a longtime resident of the area, active Methodist and church member, described as pious and beloved. Funeral services led by Rev. Damen at Andrew Ch. Church. Burial followed at An Hew Chapel Cone.

The Mt Jebron Epworth League enjoyed a patriotic program on Washington's birthday led by Mel Harper Shall. Members and the audience admired a red white and blue decorated venue. The program featured songs recitations and essays about George Washington and include Old Glory Star Spangled Banner and the origin of the first flag. Refreshments followed as the group thanked Mrs Shall for the evening.
