Lack of Demand in New York Sugar Market Aug 30
Poor demand for refined sugar keeps New York market weak as Cuban holders offer raw sugar at 11 cents a pound cfr while bids top at 8 cents. A small Peru sugar sale at 9 7-8 cents c.i.f. equates to 10 1-8 cents for Cuban. An export inquiry occurred but was too small to move prices.
