Season of high grade entertainments opens at Lpock's Hall
A local notice announces eight high grade entertainments starting Oct 9 at Lpock's Hall with season tickets and single night prices. Dr. Elliott A. Boyle of New York opens the series with flights of oratory and vivid dramatic description. J W Fouts of Diller highlighted for promoting good roads with a fundraising banquet that financed six miles of highway and spurred countywide road improvements.

Public cattle sale and local notices in Diller Endicott area
John Specht Sr. offers nineteen head of cattle at a public sale at the stock yard in Diller on Saturday October 9 starting 1 o clock Color. BKB Wright acts as auctioneer Thos P. Price clerk. Also S F Stull of the old Mullen place near Endicott schedules a public sale of horses cattle hogs and farm machinery on Monday October 4 at 1 pm to dispose of surplus stock. Col J B Wright auctioneer THow FP Price clerk. The mother of ex County Commissioner Alex Shepherd died at his home south of Endicott aged 74. Survivors include four sons, two brothers, three sisters, sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. William Garrelle fractured a bone in his left leg below the knee at Herman Sasee's home while building a chicken house. he rode home to his parents' place five miles southeast of Diller after the accident. He endured the fracture without anesthesia and showed grit.

Death of Mrs Mary Gerwick in Nebraska Home
Mrs Mary Gerwick died at 10:30 p m on September 16 1909 after a three week illness. Born in Baden Germany November 17 1866 she later moved to Wisconsin and Richardson County Nebraska before settling in Elm Township Gage County. Survived by her husband F A Gerwick ten children three sisters and three brothers. Funeral at her residence Sunday at 1 30 p m with interment in Odell Cemetery conducted by Rev Harder of Lanham.
