Death of veteran Lewis L Catlin noted at his daughter Mrs Frank Nelson home in Plymouth Nebraska. Born March 21 1831 in New York state he died September 17 1916 aged 85 years 5 months 27 days. Survived by son Arthur Wellsboro Pa and three daughters Mrs William Carey Ridge Montana Mrs William Ulmer Rocky Creek Nebraska and Mrs Frank Nelson Plymouth Nebraska. He served four years in the 13th Iowa regiment and moved from Qh to Nebraska years ago living in Gage county then Jefferson county. Funeral in Willer Methodist Church conducted by Rev Carmony and burial in Prairie Home Cemetery beside wife.
While returning from Diller Mr H R Tincher and family faced a heavy rain. A partly exposed corrugated culvert caused a fall and a severe head wound for Mr Tincher. Nine stitches were needed to close the gash. He is recovering rapidly.
