Wife of Elder Bush Visits From Bethany University

The wife of Elder Bush, an instructor at Colne University in Bethany Nebr and preacher at the Christian church in Diller every other Sabbath, accompanied him here Saturday and they stayed with friends until Monday noon.

Passion Play Screens at Electric Theatre This Weekend

The Electric theatre presents the Passion Play on Saturday with shows at 3:30 and 8 00 in color motion pictures depicting the life of Christ from birth to resurrection as performed in Oberammergau Bavaria. Admission 5 and 10 cents afternoon 10 cents evening 10 cents. In a separate item the six year old son of Mr and Mrs Jes Long on the Tintsman farm north of Diller nearly severed the left hand finger and broke the bone while using a hatchet to chop corn stalks. A local physician treated the injury and the boy was improving.

Modern Woodmen Reinstates Dropped Members in 1914

At the June 1914 Head Camp in Toledo Ohio the Modern Woodmen of America adopted a resolution to reinstate all members who dropped out or lapsed during the 1912 to 1918 agitations. Members sign a reinstatement blank to regain good standing with no arrears due and approval by the head clerk. Hundreds are applying daily and the deadline is November 1 1914.

Student Louie Sanmann Earns Columbia Medical School Admission

Louie Sanmann, spending vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sanmann near Diller, has received a medical school admission certificate from Columbia University New York on a scholarship tied to his two years at Nebraska Medical College Omaha. He plans to depart for New York soon and expects to graduate in two years.
