Pittengers Visit Diller Relatives Then Return Home

Mr and Mrs J H Pittenger visited with Diller relatives and returned Sunday to their Beatrice home. Mr Pittenger worked on thrashing grain at his farm northwest of town reporting wheat yielding 20 bushels per acre and the crop at 88 bushels.

Auto train inspects county roads near Diller and Jansen

The Fairbury Commercial Club and local farmers formed a train of twenty one or twenty two cars carrying about ninety to one hundred passengers. They toured four to five miles of Diller's roads on an inspection trip, approved the routes, lined up on Main Street for a group photo by Photographer Taylor, then departed toward Jansen for dinner.

Oaks couple returns from Texas gulf trip to Nebraska

Mr and Mrs E Oaks of near Shea returned from a Texas gulf coast trip with plan to invest inland. They extended to Old Mexico and returned satisfied to stay in Nebraska. A sample of rice grown in Texas handed by Mr Oaks at the train through Diller will be available at this office.

Death of Mrs. Mathews at Liberty Nebraska

Elizabeth Mathews died Saturday at 4 AM after illness at her daughter’s home near Diller. She was born October 1836 in Ohio, married John Mathews in 1854, and moved to Nebraska in 1883. Survived by five children, three sons and two daughters, with funeral in Liberty Presbyterian Church.
