Fatal Affray Near Lexington
A Saturday fatal fight occurred about fifteen miles northeast of Lexington at a dance between Dave Fisher and Emery Mathews two neighbors with bad terms. Mathews struck Fisher twice with his fist the second blow to the heart killing him instantly. Mathews fled but was captured by a sheriff patrol and arrested. An inquest found Fisher died from a blow by Mathews.
