School notes highlight student arts and contests
The third grade started watercolor lessons with strong work on display. Seventh graders completed South America maps now shown. Cotton samples from North Carolina were threshed in the grammar room by Howard Stotts. An eighth grade spelling contest ends with 85 percent for Elizabethans and 83 percent for Dillerites. The second six weeks exams loom next Tuesday and Wednesday. Verna Murray returns after tonsillitis.

The midweek prayer service is canceled due to the Union Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday evening. Women’s Missionary Society to present a praise service at 7 30 pm featuring a missionary pageant a playette and musical selections with a quarterly offering collected. A chicken pie supper last Saturday was a success with proceeds partly to buy new song books.
