Train Strike Kills Odell Man at Beeler Crossing

Beeler crossing near Odell witnessed a fatal accident as west bound Burlington No 13 struck and killed Van J. Shalla about 4 50 am. His wife was seriously injured and their three year old daughter narrowly escaped harm. The buggy horse and buggy were demolished. A coroner's inquest is scheduled for Wednesday.

Baby Girl Born To Caremichael Family At Home

Dr Taylor reports a fine baby girl born Tuesday morning to Mr and Mrs G W Care michael two miles northwest. W H Crane shipped a car of apples to Hastings last Monday, selling some at 60 cents a bushel and the rest at 50 cents. He shipped several barrels Thursday and has about 200 bushels remaining in his orchard. Steeple City Press.
