The Post Office to open at 12 noon on Sundays and holidays starting November 7 to improve mail delivery. Incoming and outgoing mail for Train 16 and Train 17 will be handled from noon to 1 pm, with outer doors kept open only then. Voters in Pleasant precinct moved smoothly on election day with few exceptions. The partial results list candidate tallies for state, county, and local offices, with several Republicans leading and Democrats trailing in multiple races. Election board members and clerks are named, and Mr McCune delivered returns to Fairbury early Wednesday morning.
Tuesday's vote totals in Jefferson county list governor McMullan 2678 and Bryan 2950, 4th District congressman Nevin ? in-state races show Lanmann 1846 and Wells ? plus county officers Deeds Spence 36517. Dorcas Class of the M E church was well entertained at a Halloween party in the church basement on Thursday afternoon Oct 25. Committee members included Mrs Griswold Mrs Will Mrs Tucker Mrs Ryton and Mrs Will Green with decorations described.
The NCSA met at Mrs H K Shutt’s home on October 27 with nine members answering roll call on Halloween topics. Mrs Robertson won the fortune pumpkin prize while Irwin Shatt performed a piano solo and a luncheon followed.
Fred Diekhoff from the Cornhusker Market in Beatrice called on Diller friends and relatives Sunday to discuss market matters and community ties.
Charley Barber and A. Mayborn went to Omaha Wednesday after cattle for the farmer's feed yards. Mrs. M. Callandar returned home Sunday from Lincoln where she spent last week visiting relatives and attending the state convention of Womans Clubs.

Charley Brandt and Miss Brandt arrive with a jar of venison for her grandfather Mr Brandt and George Fisher. Her family notes their party shot three deer a day or two earlier. Miss Pearleigh Ramsey, who kept house for her grandfather, returns to Beatrice with her parents Mr and Mrs Homer Ramsey.
