Man Injures Finger Unloading Vinegar Barrel at Farmers Store

Paul Stange suffered a painful finger injury Wednesday while helping unload a barrel of vinegar at the Farmers store. Doctors Ellis and Diehl attended a lecture Tuesday night in Fairbury’s courtroom by Dr. R V Brokaw of the American Society for the Control of Cancer.

Scarlet fever cases recover. no new cases after eleven days

Irwin and Marcella Shutt with scarlet fever are reported recovering nicely. No new cases developing after eleven days, suggesting no further cases. Excelsior School District 130 spent Friday evening at Wm Hereth’s home enjoying Halloween pranks and a school program with specials from Holmesville boys.

Halloween Night at Cleo Green's Home

Last Saturday October 27 the Willing Workers Class of the Methodist Church hosted a Halloween gathering at Cleo Green s home. Ghosts greeted guests and orange and black decorations set the mood. Ghost stories and games were enjoyed with refreshments served by Hagel Geer and others.

Gravel project in Diller completed by community effort

The Diller streets on Main and Castor were gravelled using sixteen loads from Fairchild pit Endicott after a popular subscription funded the gravel and freight. Volunteers unloaded and laid the rock, with a free dinner provided. A complete donor list totals 795.00 with 750.00 collected to date and 69.00 paid to the Commercial Club. The effort included numerous local workers and farmers, and the town will note visitors and ongoing updates as corrections are sent.
