Winter wheat is heading. Special sale on lace curtains at the Racket. Phone orders for sweet potato plants to Waggoner Bros. County Assessor Fehlmann was in Diller on official business between trains Tuesday. Miss Sylvia Miller returned Tuesday from Lincoln. Mrs. F. E. Hale and children will visit her son Loren Haley and wife in Colorado Saturday. Miss Minnie Martin returned Tuesday to Beatrice for employment.

Arthur Grone rents farm northeast of Diller to C Fredricks and plans to move to Lincoln next spring. Mrs Cora Colman and her son Andrew return from Omaha where the boy was operated on for rupture at the Methodist hospital. Beatrice citizens raise 10551.85 for funding public projects via the commercial club.

Chirnside Receives Court-Authorized Payment From County

At a county board meeting a warrant was drawn to pay a district court judgment against the county to ex sheriff Jas Chirnside. The amount is 1264.45 including 8.90 interest and 35.55 costs. Chirnside sought about 1900 for jailer fees, but the claim was rejected, prompting a lawsuit. officials considered appealing to the supreme court but did not.

Village committee aids assessor in real estate valuation

The committee of Lightner, Fouts, Price, Scock, and May born, chosen at the village primary to help the assessor equalize Diller real estate valuations, has met daily to determine relative values of improved and unimproved properties within the village limits. Assessor Mudge works with them and values their assist.
