A car load of western horses will be sold at Odell tomorrow. Farm and household items including a second‑hand carpet loom and live chickens are advertised for sale. The Diller schools close May 27 for summer recess. Rev Kneller to assume the Presbyterian parsonage. Epworth League hosts May 21 program.
A Diller youth courting his best girl in Rock Creek precinct last Sunday evening had his horse loosened from the buggy. The horse wandered back to town on its own, and the father of the girl brought the buggy in the following day. Details on how the youth reached home remain unclear.
Dr. T G Merritt of No Mehoopany Pa reports a patient with violet hemorrhages from stomach ulceration improved after using Electric Bitters. The patient showed immediate relief and has had no attack in 14 months. The remedy is guaranteed for dyspepsia indigestion constipation and kidney troubles and is sold for 50 cents at J W Suttons.

Clarence Faton reports on the Intermediates excelling in an object drawing exercise. Clinton Trustman and Joy Reinhart visited the county seat. Mrs. True, the county superintendent, visited the Diller school. A plant in the primary room was found with a note. Several students, including Viona Witty Edith Bixby Dell Wright and Fred Blant, traveled to Fairbury for county exams. Walter Fisher injured his door with a rusty nail and missed school. Clarence Eaton has left school to work on a farm. Mrs. True took home work from the primary grades for exhibition. Eggs remain sold by count, not weight, amid business competition.
From Lebo Kansas on May 6 1904 E S Loaweven writes of a late spring with lush pastures blooming fruit trees and abundant strawberries. He notes corn planted oats sold butter eggs and meat markets steady reports a fire loss March 17th and a new DeLaval separator boosting butter value. He invites buyers to visit and relocate to Kansas.
A testimonial promotes De Kings life pills with claims of renewed youth from D. H. Turner of Dempseytown Pa. Also advertising notes four stallions for service near Diller, French Percheron draft horse, and prize-winning stock. Ends with community exhortations to friendliness and avoid knocking others.
Burlington Route offers return to St Louis World’s Fair with summer specials: sixty day tickets from 20.2 and ten day options from 16.90 after April 25 and 27. Also notes train service details via ticket agent. The World’s Fair features the world’s largest horse, stryder of Marion county Ohio, four years old, over eleven feet tall, 3000 pounds, with a dark chestnut coat and growing.
Governor Mickey issues a proclamation designating May 31 to celebrate the semi centennial of Nebraska's birth tied to the Kansas Nebraska bill signed by President Pierce on May 30, 1854. He urges school and college exercises on Memorial Day weekend and pastors to mention the event in sermons.
A testimonial ad touts Dr King s New Discovery as a universal cure for lung and throat ailments. Mrs Van Metre of Shepherdstown claims a severe bronchitis disappeared after one bottle. The product is said to treat croup whooping cough grip pneumonia and consumption. Trial bottles are free and regular sizes sell for 50 cents and 1.00.
The commissioner appointed to establish a road from the southwest corner of section 26 to Kelley street in Diller Nebr has reported in favor of its establishment. Objections or claims for damages must be filed in the County Clerk’s office by noon June 20, 1904, or the road will be established without reference. Houston, County Clerk
