Miss Carolyn Hiatt daughter of Col and Mrs Hiatt Beat Rice, to wed Alfred Claussen, recently received a miscellaneous shower. Hiatt is well known at Diller visiting with sister Mrs Frank Cully and relatives.
J W Fouts and J H Logan were summoned to Lincoln by a Federal court as part of a pool of 70 men chosen to form the jury for the Howe Dunn trial. The case attracts attention and is expected to last ten days. Both Fouts and Logan drew favorable positions as the last jurors were chosen while others were excused.
The Library Association held its annual meeting at city hall on Monday evening April 25. Officers elected for the year include F. E. Hale president E. L. Loock first vice W. S. Filley second vice E. F. Habicht treasurer and O. J. Mayborn secretary. The Librarian reports 1793 books loaned in the past year and overdue fines reduced to 1 cent per day. It was approved that library cards may be used by others with permission and new books will be bought by the Book Committee once annual dues are paid.
