Jefferson County's cow tester county agent J R Hansen reports August W Schwartz of Powell has taken charge of milk testing for the county and parts of Thayer and Gage counties. Schwartz, trained at the Agricultural College, began with the J L Fairley dairy herd and planned to test Charles Callaway's Milking Shorthorn herd but roads delayed. He is testing Flower Brothers Holstein herd this weekend and invites farmers with cows to contact the county farm agent office for milk and cream production tests.
The Red Cross names will appear in next week's issue. The drive has slowed due to bad weather and poor roads.
The NCSA club gathered Friday afternoon March 17 at Mrs. Clare Waggoner's home with Mrs. Nancy Robertson as hostess. After business, members worked on crafts, socialized, and played ROOK. Mrs. Inn Viers won the high score in Rock while Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Waggoner served a colorful lunch.
