Diller Community Club Plans April Meeting and Spring Event
The Diller Community Club announced a Friday April 2 meeting with an agenda including a program by rural school teachers Mrs Fern Hall and Miss Mary Elizabeth Frietag, a Border Phantom and Big Bad Wolf screening, and a transportation picture. Plans for a Spring Party at the high school gym were discussed, an orchestra is being contacted for dancing music, and an admission will be charged. The picnic committee has begun work on the fifty third annual picnic scheduled for August 19 and 20. all are invited to attend.

Woman's Club Nutrition Class At Weigel Home
The Diller Woman's Club hosted a March 17 nutrition class at Mrs. Earl Weigel's home with Miss Sorenson of the Red Cross presenting on foods and body health for all ages. Mrs. Hobbs of Fairbury accompanied her. A covered dish luncheon followed an all day meeting. Members welcomed guests and invited community ladies to join.

Gifts To Church Dedicated Sunday
At the first service of St. Pauls Lutheran church last Sunday gifts given by members were dedicated. A candelabra was given in memory of Mr. William Glathar by his wife Mrs J H Glathar. Five members presented a cross to the church. A new parish register and new hymnal were gifts from the Sasse family and the Sunday School class.

Womans group dedicates gift and elects officers at meeting

A Diller High junior, Herman Harding, becomes the first local youth to be chosen as a delegate to Boys State. The event, hosted by the American Legion, reenacts state government and offers civic training for selected youths. Local sponsor Jacob's Café supports the delegation.
