Spring Began with Local Notices and Small Town Happenings

Spring arrived Monday as residents report no new hitching racks. Farmers sow cate while ads note watch bar prices and a new Panel Rug at Lpock's. Grace and Orpha Bell visited Fairbury. A D Stotts met relatives at Odell. Calves for sale advertised and two letters engraved free with Colman silverware. Odell Band to perform next Wednesday evening.

Local Social Notes From Falls City To Beatrice

Brown remarks about a coming event while relatives converse in Falls City and Beatrice. Mrs. Belle Woods and Mrs. Paul Stange return from visits with friends in Beatrice. A Southbend 17 jewel watch is advertised at Colman's. A L Tinatman and others join J Smith Diller to Fairbury by auto with Tinsman returning later to retrieve his car.

Odell Band Promoted by County Supervisor

County Supervisor Frank Layton visited Odell on Monday and urged support for the Odell band which plans an entertainment in Diller next Wednesday. He noted the band paid $600 for its instruments and, under the Odell school principal, is advancing quickly.

Spring School Notes Show Busy Pupils and New Schedule

Edward Kielsmeier and cousin welcomed visitors as the term ends and reviews keep pupils busy. Sophomores boast the lineup for baseball while teachers and boys washed upper floor windows for light. James Fairbanks misses the week due to pneumonia but hopes to return soon. The Literary Club votes to meet biweekly to ease end of year workload with better programs planned starting April 1.

Epworth Leaguers Meet for Evening Sunday School

All Epworth League members are urged to attend at 6 45 p m for study of quarterlies with the pastor leading. Preaching follows at 7 30 with a special musical program and no Easter message from the pulpit.
