Mrs. Sarah Witty came back Saturday after a three or four month visit with her son Ed Witty and his wife in Arizona and extended her trip to the Pacific coast.
Kensington met with Elsie Tristman Tuesday evening for a luncheon gathering that went well. Next week they plan to meet with Miss Belle Tucker for another social event.
Geo. R. McDonald deputy of the A. O. U. W. lodge is expected to meet the local lodge Saturday evening as three candidates are to be initiated and he stays on to work in the interests of the order.
Adolph Jabas, once a resident, enlisted in the U S coast artillery at Port Townsend Wash nine years ago and has re-enlisted for three more years. He visited here with old friends last week and planned to visit his brother in law Peter Denze and family at Colby Kansas.

A mile of poles just north of town were broken by sleet Tuesday night. The poles carried twenty one wires and are all on the ground.

Snow plows operated but trains did not run for Thursday and Friday due to the blizzard. A passenger traveled west on Saturday, with no arrivals from the west until Sunday.
J W Fouts and E L Loock returned from Omaha where Mr Fouts spoke to the Nebraska retail dealers association on good roads. His speech appeared in full in the Trade Exhibit, the association’s official organ.
Three rural letter carriers in the area have not completed their rounds for over three weeks due to bad roads. They work partial routes on successive days, with several days completely stalled. The winter is described as the worst since the service began.
The village election will occur on the first Tuesday in April at the ante room of the Masonic hall in the First National Bank building. Election officers appointed include Clerks O B es L Waggoner, Judges W N Sparks W E Modes and J O Blanser, and special police O T Fox. Polls open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

James Moreland a former Diller resident died last week at his Rockville Missouri home aged sixty five. He was father in law of Carl A Gale and brother in law of John Bealer both residents of this county. A Civil War veteran he belonged to the Woodman and Workmen lodges. He was buried yesterday under their auspices.
The Methodist comparison shows Nebraska Wesleyan’s four hundred thousand dollar endowment plan lagging behind peers in South Dakota and Iowa. Despite stronger Methodist presence, Iowa has invested three million dollars in colleges and aims for more, casting doubt on Nebraska Wesleyan’s fundraising prospects.
