Diller Boys In Car Crash Near Fairbury Injuries Reported
In Fairbury last Friday evening Dale Fri day and Gerald Friday with Cecil Findling and Gilbert Plager rode to town to see their girls. A 1928 Chevrolet driven by a drunk auto mechanic from the city struck their Buick at 6th Street, overturning it and damaging the right side. Cecil Findling suffered a deep hand cut needing ten stitches. A few girls were slightly hurt. The drunk driver was jailed, blamed fully for the collision.

Diller Farmers Store Stockholders Meet
Stockholders of the Diller Farmers Store held a called meeting at city hall with about thirty in attendance. They discussed lowering the capital stock from the original 650 dollars per share while noting the merchandise stock and lack of implements. The Ditiet Public schools grade students presented an operetta last Friday with a smaller crowd due to competing local activities and free band entertainment. Despite a leaner set, the show drew a creditable audience who felt they got their money’s worth. the setting was simpler and the performers wore common clothes to fit a homey mood. Miss Joyce E Grubb directed with help from Miss Smith Miss Hanson Flossie Raymond and Russel McCreight with Cleo Green at the piano while the school orchestra entertained before and between acts.
