Beatrice meets Fairbury in a state league baseball game at Fairbury July 5 morning with Norfolk to follow July 6 7 and 8. Frank Grabber and others from Diller area. Hubert Filley and friends at Peru summer school visited his parents in Diller. John Greider and wife spent Saturday in Lincoln returning that night. A heavy rain trapped them two and a half hours on Goldenrod Highway leaving a 54 mile trip home much mud hindered wheels.

Chester Sparks traveled from Lincoln on Monday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Wenn N. with their daughter Lucile still recovering from surgery. He and his wife planned a stop with Mrs. Joe Mete before taking a trip to their former homes in Ay Kins County that may extend into Colorado.

Local Wheat Mostly Poor Across Narrow Region
Dr and Mrs Claude Ellis returned from a trip to Kanorado Kansas reporting wheat largely good only to Bird City where it failed. They noted a vast barley crop thriving where wheat failed and that corn prospects look poor after recent rains. A hailstorm after their departure ruined 230 acres of corn on their land. Mrs Joe Owens and her mother visited from Lincoln for the weekend. Parker, a former Diller High teacher, accompanied them.
