Miss Pearl Fasnacht visited Wymore friends while Homer Brunk and wife spent Sunday with Plymouth relatives. The scene marks a ripe and plentiful cherry season in the area.
A Beatrice family, the Gullys, mourns after the death of Mrs. J A Gully on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Plymouth picnic is slated for August 5 and 6, with alfalfa hay harvests showing uneven yields across fields and a jazz tune noted for its unwinding end.

A blaze started in the paint room of the Ellis lumber yard last Thursday devastated a large part of the village business district. The Bone Lumber Co. stock and Leonard's general store were destroyed with losses estimated at 25 to 30 thousand dollars, about half insured. Beatrice and Fairbury fire departments responded but could not stop the fire from spreading.
Mr. and Mrs. John Carico visited relatives in Lincoln. Kieth Johnson mashed two fingers catching his hand in a car door Wednesday. C. E. Jones of Beatrice, proprietor of Jones Summer Shows, was a Diller business visitor Monday. Lucile Sparks Bethel Friday, Margaret Logan, Eileen Green and Richard Mayborn attend summer school at the state university.
A marriage license was issued on the 15th instant at Beatrice for Claude M. Woods of Diller and Gladys M. Shadley of Liberty Nebraska.
Howard Stotts, an employee of the First National Bank in Lincoln, is spending part of his vacation with Diller relatives and friends.
Mr and Mrs Ardell Frown Felter of Chicago were 60 oclock dinner guests at the home of her uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Woods in Fairbury Tuesday evening.
Mr and Mrs Ardell Fronp felter of Chicago with Mrs Jennie Line and Alice and Mrs Clarence Steffen and son Richard visited Beatrice on Monday and were dinner guests at Mr and Mrs Ed Pefferman's home.

Roy Boggs posted bille at Diller Tuesday for the auto races at Beat Rice on July 4 and 5. Dr O C Diehl returned Wednesday from Lincoln with his daughter Mrs W C Steffensmyer who will remain until Sunday.
Mrs Wayne Richardson Betty Elaine and Ralph Beck of Carleton visit their parents Mr and Mrs Herb Beckwith. Beatrice Municipal Band schedules a series of goodwill concerts in nearby towns this summer with a date set for Diller on Wednesday night August 26.
Clifford Sparks a mail carrier on route 2 and his wife are spending a vacation at Denver and other Colorado summer resorts. They left Monday taking with them Beatrice and Beulah Dunny who had spent the winter at the home of grandparents Bert and Beil.
Last Sunday June 14 at Finks park a family reunion gathered 34 attendees for a noon cafeteria style dinner. The afternoon included social visits, swings, slide, swimming, and a group photo session. Homemade ice cream and cake closed the day with many local residents listed as attendees.

A Great Northern Empire Builder at full speed collided with a tornado in Minnesota. Eleven Pullmans were lifted and scattered along the right of way, leaving only the locomotive on the tracks. One man was killed and twenty or more injured among 119 passengers aboard.
B B Kensington met with Mrs Addie Woods on June 2 with twelve members and five visitors. Vice President Mrs Mattie Wolkens called the meeting to order and the minutes were read. A quilt was quilted for Mrs Woods. Lunch was served. Next meeting with Mrs Effie Anderson on June 23. Roll call noted current events.
About 74 relatives met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C L Mang on Sunday June id for a bounteous basket dinner. Attendees included families from Ellis Beat rice Harbine Waynoka Reynolds Fairbury Lincoln DeWitt and other locales with many related by the Gaisford name. One Who Was There.
Mary Cornelia Weigel born June 22 1859 in Cumberland County Pennsylvania died June 10 1931 at her home three miles south of Diller Nebraska aged 71 years 9 months 18 days. She moved to Nebraska in 1882 joined the Presbyterian church at Diller and remained faithful. She married Eugene E. Weigel on October 11 1888 and is survived by her husband and three sons Earl J of Diller Bruce H of Decatur and William Z of Lincoln Nebraska plus six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev. W E Ludwick with interment at Home Cemetery.
