A Saturday morning lightning strike hit Ralph Hudson’s barn killing three of four valuable work horses. Hudson had harnessed the animals and left the barn a short time before the strike.

Dogs attack woman. two animals blamed
Miss Minnie Clauseson was attacked and bitten by two dogs on a Sunday afternoon. Clarence Piveral and Riley Tucker own the dogs. Miss Clausson is under doctor care. The smaller Piveral dog acted as the aggressor and both owners regret the incident. Tucker sent his dog to the country for observation.

Editor and Wife Attend Omaha Convention
The editor and wife returned from the National and State Editor conventions in Omaha where they met, heard speeches, and enjoyed a Council Bluffs drive with 64 cars, a Bayliss Park barbecue, and a large 82 piece juvenile band. The event included a byline by Dr. A L Bixby and a finale with a 96 member cast. Memphis was chosen as next year’s meeting site with many editors departing for Nebraska and the Black Hills afterward.
