Diller area notes cover farmers busy plowing corn and early alfalfa harvest. EB. L. Loock went to Fairbury Monday to serve as a grand juror at the spring term of the district court for Jefferson county. Thos. P. Prices August Engle math and J.B. Wright were selected to serve as petit jurors yesterday.
A testimonial from D. L. Gregory of Hope Texas extols Bucksen’s Arica Salve for cuts burns ulcers fever sores and sore eyes. The 25 cent remedy is advertised at Spear Drug Co's drug store with claim of rapid cure and universal safety.
The Sedgwick Pantagraph notes windstorms cause cattle in Southern Kansas to brace for danger. Livestock back up, wrap tails around saplings, and cling like monkeys as back clouds loom.
The second section running at high speed struck a handcar in the cut east of town Wednesday evening and smashed it. Foreman Al Taylor and his gang, coming from the east, failed to hear the train and barely escaped. Six to eight cars were derailed at the curve.
A farmer can install a stake near hogs sleeping area and wrap it with rope, secure with nails, then saturate the rope with a mix of lard and coal oil. Twice weekly maintenance is advised. The device allegedly prevents hog attacks by emitting fire when the farmer sleeps.
Reuben Gretzinger and Miss Sarah E. Bisby were married at the bride’s home on June 7 1905 with Rev F G Knauer officiating. The ceremony was witnessed by guests and relatives.

In Fairbury Nebraska notes Homer White and Mrs J Bo Bixby visit, Gretziner travels to town, and local cultivators gather. Hattie Sparks Miss Gertrude Loock return from Wesleyan University for commencement and summer session. Major George Cross resumes editorial work at the Fairbury Gazette now moved to a new building.

Mrs Ellen Cally died suddenly at 11 40 am Friday June 2 1905 at her home three miles southeast of Diller. Born December 23 1833 in Plymouth Pennsylvania she married Robert J Cully in Marion County Iowa April 4 1858. Funeral held 10 am Monday at her residence with interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. She was a Baptist all her life.
