The American Meat Institute projects higher meat supplies in late 1949 and into the next year, forecasting 150 pounds per American consumer this year and a substantial rise in 1950. Factors include high feed grain yields, improved pastures, and greater efficiency, supporting soil building and reduced foreign dependency.
