President Peter Younger led the Nebraska state board of agriculture in Lincoln for their annual meeting. They reported $33,000 spent on state fair grounds improvements and $22,000 of legislative funds for a cattle barn, hoping for a large livestock pavilion next. Chief Game Warden Carter reports state license receipts from fishing and hunting licenses since the law took effect show a steady rise. Boy Fined for December Nebraska Deer Killing

Roy Soules, a Brady Island resident in Lincoln county, killed a deer in December and was fined 100 dollars plus costs. Noted Nebraska City Attorney Charles W. Seymour Dies at 69

Charles W. Seymour, a prominent Nebraska City attorney and longtime Republican political figure, died at his home at 69. Born June 4, 1838 in Hartford Ohio, he graduated from Wesleyan University and earned A B and A M degrees before practicing law with partners in Nebraska Territory. He held roles including United States commissioner and land commissioner for Midland Pacific, served in the territorial legislature, and chaired the state central committee. He enlisted for the Civil War in the Ohio Infantry.

Hand Crushed In Sheller Near Murray

Harry Tigner of three miles southeast of Murray suffered severe hand injuries when his mitten caught in the elevator chain of a corn sheller. The machine ground off fingers and flesh, with doctors amputating remaining fragments, leaving only a partial ring finger and small finger.
