Odell Players presented Her Father's Pride at the Dilsler-Opéra House last Saturday night. Audience numbers were small though attendees praised the performance as well rendered and deserving of greater support. The City Hall dance after the play drew better patronage. The orchestra did not appear, but Mr. and Mrs. John Wehing and Mr. Vitoch supplied music with piano violin and accordion.

The ROTC band concert at the University of Nebraska Coliseum drew about 7000 attendees and a silver loving cup given by Sousa in 1926 is prized by the group Lynn Cully plays slide trombone in the band.

Bones Found Twelve Feet Underground Near Diller
A local archaeologist reports buffalo bones unearthed twelve feet below ground near Diller while excavating the big cut south of town. He notes the site may mark an ancient bed of Indian Creek that flowed there long before present memories.

Diller Public Library Offers Weektime Hours and Story Hours
Under Jefferson County's CWS program the Diller Public Library will have an assistant librarian for a few weeks. The library will be open weekdays 2 to 6 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Story hours are Wednesdays 4 to 5 pm for ages 3 to 6 and Fridays 4 to 5 pm for ages 6 to 9. No book exchanges during story hours. The Diller Library association calls a meeting on Tuesday evening Jan 23 to elect a new President to replace the late F T Pearce. All interested are asked to be present.

Saylor House Burns on Isaac Saylor Farm
A rural fire destroyed the Saylor House two miles east and two and a half south of town on Monday night near 10 o clock. Mr and Mrs LaVern Pickard were in residence and could not save the building or most belongings. The attic fire spread fast before discovery by children. The Pickards will resume in the Geo Speedt property in town. Saylor carried 600 dollars insurance on the dwelling and the furniture was adequately insured.

Diller Municipal Band Mid-Winter Concert at Opera House
The Diller Municipal Band plans a mid winter concert at the Opera House on Thursday evening February 1. Admission is 10 cents for adults with children under twelve free. The program will include band music solos duets and quartets with the High School Girls Sextette as guests. Proceeds will benefit the band as expenses are substantial.
